More About Amber
Aside from her tendancy to be unfriendly towards strange dogs Amber has a beautiful nature and is just wonderful ... in our eyes anyway.
We could never trust her enough to ever be off a lead in public but that doesn't stop us from taking her places with us of course. She loves going out and we enjoy her company.
Even though Amber grew up with 2 cats, we were a bit nervous about introducing a new one. She made us feel guilty for misjudging her by accepting the new kitten,
Shayla, with no problems at all.
She has pleasantly suprised us at other times with her nurturing nature. Amber has taken a
chihuahua X puppy under her wing, fussed over newborn kittens and allowed
Darcy, a cattle dog pup, to become a member of our family.
When we had a small flock of free-range pigeons in our yard Amber would never eye them up for a game of feather ball. She would walk right past, ignoring them, even if they were having a bath, which they did daily, in a pan of water below the clothesline. She will chase magpies and other birds though. Thankfully she has never caught any.
