More About Darcy
Darcy is the first dog we have had who accomplished many renowned puppy activities.
He showed us what its like to have a pup who would pull the washing of the line, dig holes under fences, get stung by bees, annoy the older dogs, chew our shoes, knock things over, jump on people, pull out new plants, destroy childrens toys and yap at the blue sky.

He has proven to be a challenge but a great barrel of fun at the same time. He is very devoted to the children and a wonderful friend.

Darcy loves learning new things and will do anything for a tennis ball. He attended Maitland Dog Obedience Club and reached level 4. We stopped at that stage as we did not have a car to get there. We will have to get back and keep going with it as Darcy quite enjoyed it. The hardest task he was asked to do was a sit or lay stay for a 5 minute period. He finds being inactive difficult and when he did actually sit still for 5 minutes he would let his frustration out by barking.
Here at home Darcy is not the type of dog we can walk up to and pat whilst he's sun baking. He'll jump up the minute we step outside and want to play. Inside he is the same. We can only give him a tummy rub while he is wriggling on his back and kicking his feet in the air.

Darcy gets on well with all members of the family. He is not a biter, just a chaser. He caught the pigeon once but dropped it when we called out and it lived to fly another day.

Aside from the tennis ball Darcy adores swimming and playing in water. He will bounce through the shallows back and forth till it is time to leave. Like a child he doesn't know when to stop, and one time exhausted himself so much that his eyes began rolling and he could barely walk. Since that episode we restrict his water play time because we don't want to lose our sweet bundle of fun.
